Every year, SBC Award recognizes the best casinos online, affiliates, and game suppliers in the gaming industry. This year’s ceremony was nothing like any SBC events. The seventh SBC Awards became the first event that was done in an online format. The event was held on December 9, 2020.
This year’s SBC Award rewards 41 different gambling companies for their achievements in the sports betting and gaming sector. There are also 800 guests from different countries around the world who witnessed the award virtual ceremony.
LeoVegas Casino and Bet365 were named as two of the best online gaming websites that won two of the major categories. Leo Vegas won the Casino Operator of the Year award, while Bet365 received the sportsbook of the Year award.
Despite the event being done online, Andrew McCarron, Managing Director of SBC, revealed that this year’s event has the highest attendees since the first launch of the event.
“Huge congratulations to all the winners chosen by our independent panels of expert judges. We had a record number of entries this year and the standard was the highest we’ve seen since launching the awards back in 2014, meaning the victors had to be truly exceptional to see off the competition,” McCarron said.
“2020 has been a uniquely testing year for the industry but, from the evidence of the awards entries, there have been a lot of positives to take. The innovation demonstrated by suppliers in the development of new products and services, coupled with the commitment of the operators to drive up standards suggests that the industry will enter the New Year in a strong position,” McCarron added.
The official website of SBC awards also revealed that the 2020 SBC Awards had 800 virtual guests.
British Television presenter Kirsty Gallacher, actor Vinnie Jones, and former professional footballer and goalkeeper legend Petr Cech hosted the virtual event.
