The largest operator of Indian Casinos is Delta Corp, and they have gained the approval to construct the very first land-based integrated casino resort in Goa.
On Saturday, the company had already told its investors that the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board already approved of their plan to build an integrated resort casino in Pernem City. Delta is proud to say that it is “expected to be the one of its kind in the country.”
The resort will feature a convention center, hotels, a multiplex cinema, a water park, retail shopping, and an electronic casino. They need the electronic qualifier because of the gambling regulations in Goa that restricts live casino games to their six floating casinos.
Delta did not give a timeline when it might continue to develop their new offering, nor when the opening will be. Currently, the Delta Goa operations has 3 shipboard casinos and a land-based one at the Deltin Suites hotel.
The government of Goa has been promising to curtail waterborne gaming as it requires the floating casino licenses to start having land operations. Before that, the government pledged to have a dedicated gaming zone built near Mopa airport in Pernem, but a few details have already become final.
